Lawrence has been a professional teacher for the Catholic board of education from 1968- 2003 during which he taught music for 9 years at St. Mary’s School. He has previously taught accordion at McMorrans Music land and Ted’s. Musical Instruments. He is proud to be the ambassador for the accordion, the instrument that he has been passionate about his entire life. Lawrence attends accordion festivals and workshops regularly all over the US and Canada and has performed in accordion orchestras in Mesa AZ, Dallas TX, San Diego CA, and Castelfidardo Italy with the great jazz accordionist Frank Marroco. He has been a professional entertainer most of his life. In addition to being the father of two of the U.C.O.M ’s tenured teachers, Lawrence performs as a member of the Alpen Schatz band, a group of Medicine Hat musicians who are always in high demand in southern Alberta during Octoberfest.
